Bruce Mine Headframe

The Bruce Mine Headframe in Chisholm is the last remaining underground mine headframe on the Mesabi Iron Range. The headframe is the tower-like structure that houses the motors and pulleys that raise and lower men, equipment and even mules down the mine shaft, and bring iron ore up from the depths of the mine. This headframe dates to 1926. Located on the Mesabi Trail, it is a rest area and interpretation site.
