Wander the Range

Discover the Range is going to make exploring the region more rewarding than ever this summer.

A new map of Iron Range attractions encourages residents and visitors alike to wander the Range this summer. By stopping at five historic sites and museums, they can receive a stamp and the chance to win. Throughout the summer 25 $50 gift cards to either Super One or Lucky 7 will be given away.

“We thought this would be a fun and engaging way for local families to rediscover what’s in their own backyard. It’s also a great way for visitors to navigate some of our favorite Iron Range attractions,” said Beth Pierce, executive director of Discover the Range.

Celebrating Travel and Tourism Week and Beyond

The “Wander the Range” map was introduced during National Travel and Tourism Week, May 4-10, 2025. It is available all summer long at attractions and lodging properties from Hibbing to Hoyt Lakes.

“One of the cool things is that none of these attractions are expensive,” Pierce said. “They range in price from free to $38 for a family of two adults and two school-age kids.”

Locations where visitors can earn the five stamps are: Hull Rust Mahoning Mine View, Minnesota Discovery Center, the Minnesota Museum of Mining, Greyhound Bus Museum and the US Hockey Hall of Fame Museum. Other highlighted locations include Skibo Vista in Hoyt Lakes, Locomotive Park in Mountain Iron, and the Honk the Moose Statue in Biwabik.

There are even suggestions about where to find beaches, splash pads and disc golf.

“With the economy being uncertain and many local residents experiencing layoffs, we think the Wander the Range map will help families find affordable adventures this summer. And they might win $50 in the process.” Pierce added.

Visit and Enter to Win

To be entered to win, participants should post a photo of themselves with the map and stamps with the hashtag Wander the Range. Stamped maps may also be mailed to Discover the Range, 111 Station 44 Rd, Eveleth, MN 55734, with participant’s mailing information. The gift cards will be given away at the end of June, July and August by random drawing.

“The Iron Range is a wonderful place to experience high-quality recreation. And, our attractions are quirky, entertaining, educational and fun,” said Pierce. “We hope the Wander the Range map gets more people excited about what we have to offer.”
