Three Romantic Itineraries for Valentine’s Day on the Iron Range

Valentine’s Day is that very special time of year when couples celebrate each other with extravagant gifts, romantic evenings by candlelight, and thoughtful surprises! But let’s be honest, this can get stressful, making bigger and better plans year after year takes a lot of effort and we find ourselves fumbling for last-minute reservations at the same restaurant we have visited time and time again.

Why not try something fresh and adventurous? We have put together 3 romantic itineraries for your Valentine’s Day on The Range that embody the spirit of the holiday: Passion, adventure, and appreciation.

“Get Lost with Me”

Whether you’re getting lost in each other’s eyes over dinner or soaking in some gorgeous winter scenery this little Valentine’s date wrap up is a cute mini-vacation just for two.
Start with snowshoeing at the Redhead Mountain Bike Park, if snowshoes are needed the Minnesota Discovery Center offers snowshoe rentals at their winter entrance.

The rolling trails offer a sensational view of the cliffsides around the former mining pit along with a wintery canopy to wander under with someone special!

After working up a bit of an appetite, have an intimate meal at The Rustic Pig for their special
Valentine’s Day Dinner. They have a set selection of plates to choose from including vegetarian options that are all selected to pair with an evening of romance.

“On Top of the World”

Have a couple’s adventure date on the slopes of Giants Ridge complete with music, dinner, and a little pampering too! Try out the lift-served fat tire bike trails, snowshoe, ski, snowboard and go tubing at Minnesota’s #1 Ski Resort with a Valentine’s Dinner at their on-site restaurant, The Burnt Onion Kitchen!

The Laurentian Divide Salon and Spa is also on site at The Lodge at Giants Ridge. They provide top-notch massages for an extra special touch to your Valentine’s Day getaway.
And, for an extra little kicker, we are offering $10 off lift tickets at Giants Ridge with a mid-week booking a room at certain locations for our Mid-Week Magic Special!

“While the Kids Play”

Couples with kids often find themselves at a loss on Valentine’s Day, but there’s always something romantic about families out enjoying the holiday together; what is a family if not love?

Your significant other as well as the kids will enjoy the annual Side Lake Winter Festival with a variety of games and treats available at this free to attend event. Afterwards attend a romantic dinner at the Iron Trail Motors Event Center catered by The Whistling Bird along with musical performances!

Passion, adventure, and appreciation are the critical aspects of Valentine’s Day because they are the core components of a relationship. Appreciation for the ones you love is shown by spending time with them, and more than that, making it a priority to do so by putting in the effort of planning a day.

Adventure is an important ingredient because love, no matter how new or old, should always feel like an adventure; taking part in new experiences with those you love is critical in keeping that aspect alive!

Then of course there is passion, and on the surface it seems the simplest of the three when it is anything but. Passion is a dedication that goes beyond a willingness to do something but to wholeheartedly pour effort into something for the simple want and joy of it. Passion is planning and anticipating, the welling up of love that sometimes spills over the brim.

Valentine’s Day should be more than a reservation dinner and a bouquet, it should be a passionate display of surprises and thoughtfulness, adventure, and the simple gift of the presence of people who love one another.
