Looking for Things to Do In November? The Range is Fun and Festive
In northern Minnesota November is a time when deer rifles are sighted in and the blaze orange is out of storage. It’s also a time when weekends are jam-packed with craft shows, and make-and-take opportunities abound. Artists, makers and home-based business owners are sharing their wares at tables across the region. Just look to our gyms, churches, event and community centers and more for this year’s crop of must-have handmade gifts. Our calendar is a great place to start planning your days if you’re looking for things to do in November!
#CraftyNovember: stop and shop!
The 25th Annual Stop and Shop happens at Iron Trail Motors Event Center in Virginia the first weekend in November, with the 24th Annual Holiday Boutique at the Hibbing Tourist Senior Center on its heels the second weekend of November.
The following weekend, the Ladies of Kaleva host the 55th Annual Holiday Bazaar at Kaleva Hall in Virginia. The weekend after that, you don’t want to miss the Chisholm Chamber Expo on Lake Street and the Artisan Market at Minnesota Discovery Center.
On Small Business Saturday, crafters, makers and bakers are out in force for the Winter Wonderland stop and shop at the Hibbing Tourist Senior Center. The fun doesn’t end in November, either. Look for the Last Chance Shopping Extravaganza, Virginia Holiday Market and more in December.
Can’t Find the Perfect Gift? Make One!
The Sugar Shack in Virginia is hosting a brim build and guided painting project this month, but sadly, the wildly popular DIY planter project at the Hibbing Memorial Building and barn quilt event at Mike’s Pub are sold out. There’s still room at the Saami Bracelet Class at Borealis Art Guild, also in Hibbing. There’s a guided painting with food and drink included at the Sugar Shack, too! So start crafting your own gifts for the holiday.
When the Shopping is Done, Refuel and Relax
Take in some live music at one of our most popular local music hotspots like the Ore House in Gilbert, or T&T Dom in Chisholm. You can also enjoy the sounds of the Mesabi Community Band in a salute to veterans concert, or organist David Miller, presented by the Mesaba Concert Association. A Holiday Tour of Homes is a great complement to a day of shopping, and special way to celebrate the season, along with Virginia’s Twilight Parade and Hibbing’s Spirit of Unity parade. Find these events and more on the Discover the Range calendar.
Looking for places to lunch or wind down the day? The Iron Range has some great spots to check out – why not try a new one this year?
The Range definitely puts the festivities in this festive season, so make plans to celebrate all the way till New Year’s Day!
