Get in on the last parades of the year

Parade goers are shown at the Doc Moonlight Graham Days parade in Chisholm, MN

Doc “Moonlight” Graham days bring the party to the streets in Chisholm, with a parade, tons of community events, tournaments and music. Right across the highway, the St Louis County Fair is in full swing, making the first week of August bursting with stuff to do.

Just down the road in Mountain Iron, Merritt Days is full of music and its very own parade.

Dance, dance, dance, indoors and out

The Tamburitzans return to Minnesota Discovery Center with colorful costumes and the music and dance that many early immigrants to the region would’ve known and loved.

An amphitheater in Chisholm, MN is show in an aerial view.

The amphitheater at Minnesota Discovery Center has other shows in store for the summer and fall. Check them out here.

Performers from Zenith City Horror will be on hand for Trashy: Continental Drag Breakfast at the Lyric Center for the Arts. Check out this brunch with a show in Virginia.

Cheers to August!

A crowd of people at Olcott Park Brewfest in Virginia, MN The Olcott Park Brewfest attracts a crowd of beer lovers every year. Food trucks and music round out this popular event in Virginia.

Our parks are the places to be

Whether it’s music in the park in Virginia, Biwabik or Chisholm, or the new Iron Pride event on the shore of Virginia’s Silver Lake, or Mines and Pines Revisited, an art and music festival in Hibbing, our city parks get a good workout in August. Make your way around the Range and “park” yourself for some fun.

A sign reads Welcome to Bennett Park in Hibbing, MN

But wait, there’s more!

Catch a car show at the Eveleth Elks Club or a car cruise to Giants Ridge. There’s also an outdoor concert at Giants Ridge, featuring The Big Wu and an indoor Christian concert at Rock Ridge High School. There’s even a barn dance with free lessons at the Maple Hill Community Club in Hibbing. Get your dancing shoes on!

Bottom line: if you can’t find something to do on the Range in August, you’re doing something wrong. So, click here and make your plans for the last fun of the summer!
