Enjoy the warmth of the tropics all year round, at this historic greenhouse, once part of the greater Olcott Park complex in Virginia. Built in the 1920s and 1930s, the Greenhouse is home to a botanical garden containing hundreds of plants ranging from small cacti to large tropical palms.
The Greenhouse is open Fridays and Saturdays, noon to 4 p.m.
Olcott Park, like many Iron Range city parks, was once home to an actual zoo! Now the park includes trails, playground equipment, the Greenhouse, the Heritage Museum, and is the site of the annual Land of the Loon Arts and Crafts Festival.
