Hibbing High School
Built in the 1920s as a tradeoff to the town the historic Hibbing High School is its own work of art. Learn how the community moved its homes, civic buildings and school from “North Hibbing” to accommodate mining in exchange for a “Castle in the Woods” school. This shrine to learning was held in high regard by the immigrants of the day, who understood the value of education and wanted only the best for their sons and daughters. Visitors can view priceless murals and other artwork in the school entrance and the library, as well as a beautiful 1400-seat auditorium modeled after a New York theater, complete with cut crystal chandeliers and much more. Tours are available only by appointment. Follow link for tour guide contact information.
