How to Be Part of the Iron Range Calendar

We have the Calendar of the Range! Be part of it!

Find events and activities happening across the Range – that’s Hibbing to Hoyt Lakes – on our Iron Range calendar. We want to include everything! High school sports, library board meetings, citywide garage sales, you name it!

There are two ways for your events to appear on the Calendar of the Range:

Add it yourself!

1. Visit our calendar here: https://ironrange.org/iron-range-mn-events/
2. Select the “Add Event” button at the top of the page.
3. Choose the option “I am a local organization submitting an event for approval.”
4. Enter your event details and double-check that everything is correct.
5. Click Save in the top right corner and your event will be submitted for approval.

Once approved, your event will appear on the calendar for everyone to see.

Important!!! Be sure to hashtag your event with the community or communities it is in. This helps us on the back end to track down information.

Let us pull it off your Facebook page!

Our calendar platform, Yodel, automatically pulls upcoming events from your Facebook page and adds them to our calendar. It updates every 24 hours, keeping your events fresh, and it’s a great way to get more visibility for your event. AND, it’s easy!

To be inlcuded: Share your events as a public Facebook Event to have them appear on our calendar. Yodel picks up Facebook Events, not regular posts. Plus, Facebook Events get more visibility than regular posts!

Please note: for us to pull events from your Facebook page, you must have your Facebook settings on “Public” Here’s how you can adjust your privacy settings for Facebook:

1. Visit this settings page and ensuring all settings are set to “Public”: https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=followers_and_public_content&setting_id=country_restrictions
2. Double check that the Country settings and Age restrictions settings are “Public”. If you have countries listed with the “Show only to certain countries” option selected, the Facebook page will not be visible. If you have countries listed with the “Hide from certain countries” option selected, the Facebook page will be visible except in those countries listed. If you leave the countries section blank, then it will be visible to everyone.
3. Finally, LET US KNOW you’re creating Facebook events and want to be included in The Calendar. Email info@ironrange.org or call 218-749-8161. We have to know about you in order for us to pull your events, so please contact us as soon as your events are public.
