
HILL ANNEX MINE STATE PARK IN CALUMET, MN
Hill Annex Mine State Park
Tour this historic mine by bus or take part in a fossil hunt. Learn about the mine’s history and the people who worked there. This park is located in Calumet, about 50 miles from Virginia. It’s a great daytrip for those staying on the Iron Range.
The park entrance is at the north edge of Calumet, just off Highway 169 between Grand Rapids and Hibbing. Visit the website here or call 218-247-7215 during summer, or 218-743-3362 in fall, winter and spring.
Tours are offered Fridays and Saturdays Memorial Day to Labor Day. Park hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both tours are 1.5 hours. Tour admission is $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 5-12 and free to kids under 5.
In addition to tours, the park includes a scenic overlook, museum and picnic areas.
