The Ely area is rich with artists, but it had few places for the artists to show their work. Nancy Scheibe opened the gallery in the spring of 2016 on the main street of Ely, Minnesota to support local artists. A successful Kickstarter and the support of the community made it come to life.
The gallery and studio by Jim Melgeorge and Curtis Andrews offer classes and a shop selling stained glass, jewelry, and canvas prints.
Since our formation in 1998 the vision of the Laurentian Arts and Cultural Alliance, dba, The Lyric Center for the Arts, has been to create a supportive environment and space for the Arts in our Community while also recognising and preserving the rich history of the 1912 Lyric Opera House, now known as The Lyric Center for the Arts.
