Soudan Underground Mine State Park Interpretive Programs

River Canoe Trip: A Scientific Exploration of Water Quality

Are you looking for a more exciting adventure than just canoeing a lake? Join our naturalist and canoe enthusiast as we travel down a section of a local river. Perhaps we will see turtles sunning themselves on logs or river otters busy at play or eagles searching for food, the opportunities are endless. The trip will include a water quality monitoring experiment. River canoeing offers additional challenges, such as currents, so canoe experience is required for this program. Meet at the park visitor center and dress appropriately for being outdoors and in the water. Bring your own water, snacks, and lunch. Call the park office to register, as space is limited. Must be at least 13 years old and youth must be accompanied by an adult. Canoes and equipment will be provided for this program. The program costs $25.00 per person (youth under 13 are allowed, please call 218-300-7000 for details).
