In their continuing efforts to provide outlets for local artists, Hibbing Dylan Project will be hosting Hootenanny in Hibbing—an open mic night for established and emerging musicians. It will be on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at The Room Upstairs located within Mike’s Pub in downtown Hibbing. Musicians are welcome to take the mic and perform a song or two. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., and music is slated to begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 in advance and $7 at the door.
The evening will be hosted by local radio personality, Scott Hanson. Musicians will be allotted approximately 10-15 minute sets and are encouraged to cover a Dylan tune or two as well as original songs. The Room Upstairs will provide a speaker, amp and mic. Musicians interested in getting on the list may sign up in-person at Mike’s Pub or by e-mailing email@example.com. Advance tickets for Hootenanny in Hibbing will be available at Mike’s Pub and Security State Bank beginning November 6, and will also be available for sale every Wednesday in November at the Hibbing Elks Club while HDP hosts Bingo at 7 p.m.
