6 Great Iron Range Spring Events for the Family

As winter begins to fade, great events are popping up all over the Range. With warmer weather, the opportunity to get out of the house and attend a social event is readily taken advantage of.  Although there are a plethora of events worth attending, we narrowed it down to a small variety.

Here are the 6 hand-picked highlights for you:

Giants Ridge Spring Carnival

March 14
Location: Giants Ridge Golf & Ski Resort (6325 Wynne Creek Dr., Biwabik)

The Spring Carnival offers Iron Rangers a last chance to spend a social day out at The Ridge. Don’t miss it – there’s delicious food, a costume contest, and great music to make this Saturday a memorable one.

Giants Ridge Fat Bike Race

March 21
Location: Giants Ridge Golf & Ski Resort (address listed above)

Just a week after the Spring Carnival, Giants Ridge is hosting a 13 mile bicycle race held at the famed golf course/ski resort.  The race begins at 9am, with registration ($35/participant) beginning at 7:30am.  The registration fee includes lunch & door prizes. Whether you are an avid biker or just looking to watch a unique sporting event, the Fat Bike Race is a blast to attend.

Iron Range Home, Sport & Travel Show

March 26 – 29
Location: Miner’s Memorial Building (821 9th Ave S, Virginia)

This spring event is highly anticipated by families across the Iron Range. It features incredible artisans, business, and some local manufacturers that showcase the latest products available to residents of northeastern Minnesota.

Last Chance Bonspiel

March 26 – 29
Location: Hibbing Curling Club (400 E 23rd St, Hibbing)

This bonspiel (or curling tournament) is one of the most popular in the united states. Teams will arrive from all over the United States and Canada to compete for the 2015 championship. 

Junkaroo & Mocha Too

March 27-28
Location: Old School Lives (9165 Hwy 35, Cotton, MN)

If you enjoy shopping for antiques, crafts, and rummage sales, this is the event for you! Vendors are welcome to sign up for tables to display their works of art.

Iron Range Earth Fest

Saturday, April 25:
Location: Mountain Iron Community Center (8586 Enterprise Drive South, Mt. Iron)

This event is full of resources for individuals and families who are interested in learning how to implement a more natural, eco-friendly lifestyle.  Participants from last year commented on the great connections and resources that they were connected with during the Iron Range Earth Fest.
