All these locations provide a great backdrop for Minnesota cross country skiing. Over 275 kilometers of Minnesota ski trails are found here and present a variety of challenges for skiers of all abilities.
If you want to ski at night, Giants Ridge® Ski Resort has 3 kilometers of lit trails for night skiing. Ski Magazine named Giants Ridge® the top ski resort in Minnesota with its over 60 kilometers of high quality and scenic cross country ski trails. This is the largest, most well maintained, and most scenic Minnesota ski trail system in the northland.
These cross county ski trails are conveniently located off Hwy 53 just north of Virginia. If you are looking to get into the wilderness on a more rugged and back country trail the Laurentian is for you. Since these trails are not groomed they offer people a change a pace in their nordic skiing.
