Ride our ATV/OHV Trails

We’ve got the state’s only OHV park (free with licensed machine) for ATVs, OHVs and dirt bikes. REQUEST OUR OHV/ATV GUIDE. Thirty-six miles of trails over and around rocky hills, woods, mudholes and more. Tear it up in the scramble areas, try the hill climb, go crazy! It’s a playground for you and your toys! When you’re ready to take it down a notch, take a ride on a half-dozen other trail systems in the area. Get a free trail map and call us to find out which hotels, resorts and campgrounds are on the trails.

Campgrounds on the Trails

Pull off the trail and into your campsite at these ATV-friendly campgrounds. None of them are more than a couple minutes from restaurants, bars, gas stations and grocery/convenience stores.

• Sherwood Forest Campground, Gilbert – right around the corner from the OHV Park

• Veterans Park, Eveleth – hop on the spur and head for the OHV Park

• Vermilion Trail, Biwbaik – get on the Ranger trail system

• Fisherman’s Point, Hoyt Lakes – explore the trails around Hoyt Lakes, Aurora & Biwabik

• West 40 RV Park, Gilbert – just minutes from the OHV Park

Hotels on the Trails

Most Iron Range communities let ATV travel on city streets, so if you mind your manners, you should be able to access trails from most lodging properties in the area. Here’s a short-list of ATV-friendly hotels on the trails:

• Trails Edge Lodging – three units with kitchens, multiple bedrooms in Gilbert

• Eveleth Super 8 – top Super 8 in the world (really!) a few miles from the OHV park

• Chisholm Inn & Suites – make your way through town and hit the Northern Traxx ATV trail

• Country Inn of Hoyt Lakes – loop around the east end of the range from this property

• The Villas at Giants Ridge – hop on the trails between Biwabik, Aurora & Hoyt Lakes
